The Optical Society Launches Optics and Photonics CONNECT Online Resource

WASHINGTON, Jan. 19—The Optical Society (OSA) today announced the launch of Optics & Photonics CONNECT (O&P CONNECT), an online resource that provides unique content and applications to those with an interest in optics and photonics. O&P CONNECT enrollment is free of charge and gives online visitors access to a wide range of informational, interactive and networking destinations, including regional websites, journal and multi-media archives, technical specialty areas, and more.

It takes fewer than four minutes to activate a free O&P CONNECT enrollment, which provides the following:
  • Customized Optics InfoBase: Build and manage personal online journal options based on topical interests.
  • Multi-Media Content:  Videos and slides from esteemed guest lecturers and meeting presenters along with one-on-one interviews with the field’s leading innovators.
  • Discounts: Receive a 10 percent discount on all John Wiley & Sons titles through Wiley.com.
  • Funding Resources: A comprehensive listing of U.S.-based grants, fellowship opportunities, and more.
  • Regional Websites: Access to specialized websites and communities in regions around the world.
  • OSA History Website: Special access to this rich online resource that tracks the inspiring people and innovations that have advanced the science of light for the last 100 years.

“The O&P CONNECT program provides an opportunity for all those with an interest in optics and photonics to establish a convenient online connection with the OSA community and its resources,” said OSA President Tony Heinz. “The program will enhance scientists' and engineers' ability to share information, to network, and to obtain customized updates on topics of interest.  We are pleased to offer Optics & Photonics CONNECT as a new resource for the community.”

The O&P CONNECT program is available through a free online registration process and OSA membership is not required.  OSA members, however, have automatic access to all O&P CONNECT benefits. For more information, or to enroll in the O&P CONNECT program, visit www.opticsconnect.org.
