Andreas Thoss, Publishing Professional and Consultant, Thoss Media GmbH, GermanyAndreas started his career as a laser scientist. In 2003 he completed a PhD in physics and joined John Wiley & Sons, a major scientific publisher. As editor and publisher he started 5 journals in the field of photonics. In 2010 he founded THOSS Media GmbH, where he does consulting and texting for scientific institutions, startups and larger companies. In 2014 he created a series of workshops on effective scientific writing and publishing.
Susanne Hellwage, Communication consultant focused on science and technology, Hellwage Wissenschaftskommunikation, GermanyWith a biological background and a strong record of science journalism and event organization Susanne has been managing the translation process of research or business strategies into communication concepts and activities in a variety of interdisciplinary settings for more than 12 years. After holding the position of a Senior Manager External Communications at the Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, a global medical technology company, for the last tight two years, she recently founded her own agency for scientific communication in the prospering city of Jena.
