Historically, optical design has taken the route of designing for best nominal performance first, followed by modifying the system to account for any imperfections in manufacturing to obtain the best possible yield. With OpticStudio’s recent release of High Yield Optimization, the two-step process is handled simultaneously during optimization. During this presentation, we’ll see how this functionality is used in a real application and compare the usage of High Yield Optimization to the traditional design process.
