OSA Fellow Lecture: Photonic Innovation Driven Through Crowdfunding

07 - 08 Dec 2020

Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta (UTC +07:00)

OSA Fellow Lecture:

Crowdfunding is one of the driving approaches to push ideas into reality. It simultaneously assists in broadcasting ideas worldwide, receiving feedback and comments from potential customers, raising the funds, and eventually starting the business. This talk highlights some of the photonics-related ideas that are explored through the crowdfunding approach. The presentation will be 40 minutes, followed by a Q&A.

About the Speaker: Sarun Sumriddetchkajorn, National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), Thailand

OSA Fellow Sarun Sumriddetchkajorn received his B.Eng. with honors in 1994 from Khon Kaen University, Thailand. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in 1998 and 2000, respectively, from University of Central Florida, USA. He is currently a NSTDA Research Fellow at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), Thailand. Previously, he was a photonics engineer at Nuonics Inc, USA.

His research interest is in the photonic area where he applies photonics to solve problems for industrial, medical, environmental, and education sectors. In addition, he was awarded the 2005 ICO/ICTP Award from the International Commission for Optics (ICO) and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). In 2002, he initiated the formation of the OSA, SPIE, and IEEE-LEOS Thailand Chapters.
