OIC Best Student Paper Award and Student Financial Support

OIC Best Student Paper Award and Student Financial Support

To encourage students’ participation and recognize their contribution to the advancement of the science, technology and applications of optical interference coatings, the Optical Interference Coating (OIC) conference committee will select a student paper for the Best Student Paper Award. The best student paper will be selected by a selection committee and the first author of the paper will be awarded with a stipend of $1000. The selection committee consists of the OIC Program Committee and Advisory Committee. The papers will be evaluated based on the content and quality of the 3-page summary, oral and poster presentation.

To be qualified as a student paper, the first author and the presenter of the paper must be an undergraduate, master or Ph.D. student when submitting the paper to the OIC conference. The paper must be presented at the conference as both an oral and poster presentation by the student. All student papers that meet the above qualifications will be automatically considered by the selection committee, unless otherwise notified. As a condition of the award, the winner of the student paper must prepare a manuscript and submit it to the Applied Optics Feature Issue of the OIC conference for that year.

The award winner will be announced during the Closing Remarks at the end of the meeting.
