Monolithic Solid-State Lasers are advantageous in high shock-vibration environments. High Laser Damage Threshold coatings unaccompanied by ultra-low coating contamination may be insufficient. High-temperature confined operation increases the risk of Contamination Enhanced Laser Induced Damage.
