The OSA Applied Industrial Optics Topical Meeting (AIO), which was to have been presented 20 – 22 July, has been cancelled. OSA believes this decision, however difficult, is appropriate for these uncertain times.

There is, however, some good news to share. AIO, the meeting, became the AIO Webinar Series, comprised of three, 60-minute programs. Archived recordings of each session are available.

Topics include:

1. Keynote speaker Michael Oshetski, Micatu, Inc., will present his talk, “The Optics of the Electrification Transformation”.

2. Tutorial presenter Max Colice, Smith Baluch LLP, will deliver a shorter version of his talk on effective patent writing.

3. A market-focused discussion programmed in coordination with OSA Industry Development Associates (OIDA): "The Applied Industrial Optics Market—Pandemic Update".

2020 marks ten years of the AIO meeting—a milestone that allows us to reflect on the science presented and its resulting technologies. With such a rich history of innovation, we remain confident that the optics and photonics community will survive these difficult times.
