Polarization-Sensitive OCT Imaging: Background and Applications
This presentation will cover the basics of Polarization-Sensitive Optical Coherence Tomography (PS-OCT) and the unique advantages of Thorlabs' Telesto™ PS-OCT systems. These systems not only make PS-OCT accessible to customers unfamiliar with system design, but also enable experienced users to renew their focus on what is important experimentally. We will demonstrate the benefits of PS-OCT over conventional OCT, and how these can be important in certain applications.
Dr. Sebastian Schäfer, Project Manager, OCT Applications, Thorlabs
Sebastian Schäfer studied Chemistry at the University of Siegen and graduated with a Master’s degree in 2008. After obtaining his doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of Hamburg in 2012, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Rochester for two years. He joined Thorlabs in 2015, where he currently heads a group of applications engineers and supports Thorlabs’ OCT customers pre- and post-sale on a daily basis.
