This is a high-level policy report from the White House National Science and Technology Council, and produced by an interagency working group formed for the purpose. The report identifies quantum information science (QIS) as a priority and notes how U.S. agencies have supported R&D in quantum information science but without a cohesive approach. It outlines such an approach with emphasis on broad and stable programs, targeted investments, and close monitoring and evaluation of the federal activity and of the field as a whole. The document was published 22 July 2016 with 16 pages.
