Jonathan P Heritage earned his BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of California Berkeley. He then earned his MS in physics from San Diego State University and his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UC Berkeley. He held positions at Bell Laboratories and Bellcore before joining the faculty of the University of California Davis, where he is today Professor Emeritus. Heritage is a Fellow of OSA and recipient of the 2008 R.W. Wood Prize “for pioneering contributions to the development of programmable optical pulse shaping and its applications to ultrafast optics and photonics.”
