Prof. Shu-Hsia Chen, a retired professor in NCTU in Taiwan, was the first professor in Taiwan to conduct research in liquid crystals. Her passions in research, positive energy in teaching and great leadership in optoelectronics in Taiwan inspired me to jump in the academic career. She is a great mentor and role model to me. I was honored to be one of her students. My life would not be the same without Prof. Chen's mentorship!
