Honoring Claire Max, UC-Santa Cruz

Submitted by Mike Campbell, Director, Laboratory for Laser Energetics, University of Rochester

I first met Claire when i first came to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Claire along with her colleagues, Bill Kruer and Kent Estabrook, taught me the plasma physics important for Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF). She and I published papers together and her influence on important topics related to ICF and future research that i explored remains with me today.
