Honoring Arlene Smith

Dr. Arlene Smith has been an OSA member since 2007 and her student days at the University of Ireland. She chairs the Editorial Advisory Committee for Optics & Photonics News, is involved in the Traveling Lecturer Program and General Chair for the Applied Industrial Optics Meeting in 2018. Her enthusiastic approach to optics in industrial and academic environs set an example for those following her course. She is currently an Optical Program Manager at Avo Photonics in Pennsylvania.
