I am honoured to have had the guidance of Dr. Winnie Ye in the field of silicon nanophotonics. She is a pioneer whose vision and wisdom have lead her group to make significant contributions in a wide number of topics within the field. Her passion for optics and photonics, her kind manor, and her determination for greatness truly bring out the most from her students. To me, Dr. Ye was an advisor and a mentor, and I am greatly appreciative of the impact she has had on my career and life.
