Honoring Howard M. Shapiro

Howard M. Shapiro is a physician-scientist and a mentor to many of us in the cytometry community. His classic treatise, Practical Flow Cytometry, is often referred to as a bible. The fourth edition. published in 2003, is some 700 pages of singular knowledge, keen insight, in-depth tutorials, clever wordplay, and occasional satire. It is still an excellent read today. And Howard knows that science should be great fun. That is perhaps his key lesson to all of us.
