It is my great pleasure to honor Prof. Takunori Taira. After many years I spent in Japan, starting with Fukui University, where he teach me about diode-pumped microchip lasers, and continuing with Institute for Molecular Science, Okazaki, where I investigated several topics on diode-pumped solid-state lasers, now I understand the impact of the periods when I worked with Prof. Taira on my career. Thank you very much Prof. Taira for your help, and much success in your new position at RIKEN!
