I am grateful to have been mentored by Harry Barrett as my Ph.D. advisor. His excellence in mathematics and physical insight shaped my mind. Harry is a remarkable scholar and mentor. His ability to lead intellectually and financially a large group for years with many collaborations, locally and internationally, is truly inspiring. He is a great scientist, engineer, and human being. His book on the Foundations of Image Science, together with Kyle Myers, makes us fly to new heights.
