The Optical Society Announces 2019 OSA Treasurer’s Award Recipient

Jessica Pagonis is recognized for exceptional leadership and management of OSA conferences

WASHINGTON — The Optical Society (OSA) announced today that staff member Jessica Pagonis, director of meeting operations for OSA, has been awarded the 2019 OSA Treasurer’s Award.Pagonis has been recognized “for exceptional leadership, the ability to manage parallel and conflicting components of a conference with strategy and focus, and for cultivating an enjoyable work environment.” She was presented with the award on 15 September 2019 at the Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science (FIO + LS) Awards Ceremony and Reception in Washington, D.C.

“Jessica has been an immeasurable asset to OSA, ensuring that our meetings offer the best in service to our members and the global optics and photonics community,” said OSA CEO Elizabeth Rogan. “Her enthusiasm, passion for excellence and support of OSA staff across all divisions is greatly appreciated. We are grateful for her many contributions.”

Established in 2016, the OSA Treasurer's Award recognizes an OSA staff member who makes significant contributions to organizational excellence, promotes and enacts innovative solutions or exemplifies inspirational leadership. Candidates are nominated by OSA members and staff.
