The Optical Society and OSA Foundation Launch New Career Calibrator Tool for Members
Online training platform provides professional development resources and support
WASHINGTON — The Optical Society (OSA), the Optical Society Foundation (OSAF) have partnered with Cheeky Scientist to launch the Career Calibrator, a new career training platform with world-class resources for supporting professional development goals. The platform contains a document center with transition plan and resume templates, links to the Work in Optics site, modules on how to build your professional profile, a library of webinars covering a wide of topics and several other tools to help OSA Members in their career.
“Whether someone is beginning their career, looking for new opportunities or continuing to build their skill set, the Career Calibrator will be an invaluable resource for OSA Members,” said Genaro Montanez, Chief of Employee and Membership Engagement Officer at The Optical Society. “By partnering with Cheeky Scientist, OSA and the OSA Foundation are able to provide a top notch virtual engagement experience that helps OSA members invest in their future.”
OSA Members are required to use their login credentials to access the Career Calibrator. Once logged in, members will have exclusive access to:
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT content for students and professionals who are job searching or looking to transition from academia to industry.
- GUIDANCE on building a transition plan, improving your resume/cv, interview skills and online presence.
- GENERAL RESOURCES for building transferrable skills, conducting salary negotiations, navigating immigration laws and more.
