2018 OSA Biophotonics Congress to Highlight Ever Increasing Role of Optics in Biology and Medicine
HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA — Today’s optical technologies can be used for imaging and sensing everything from molecules to man. The OSA Biophotonics Congress:Biomedical Optics will be held from 2-6 April in Hollywood, Florida. The Congress is comprised of four topical meetings highlighting the role of optics in the study, diagnosis and treatment of human health and disease; ranging from molecular level investigations to in-vivo imaging of patients.
The expanded congress includes comprehensive peer-reviewed technical sessions, joint plenaries, an exhibition, events focused on career development for young investigators, technology commercialization and translation and ample opportunities to network. Research topics incorporated into the technical program include: Clinical and Translational Biophotonics, Optics and the Brain, Optical Tomography and Spectroscopy and Microscopy, Histopathology and Analytics.

The OSA Biophotonics Congress: Biomedical Optics will focus on technological solutions to medical challenges and medical applications, complementing the OSA Congress on Optics in Life Sciences. It will cover a diversity of cutting-edge research and innovative new tools and techniques, and will bring together an international group of leading engineers, optical and medical scientists, and physicians, as well as junior researchers and graduate students, who are engaged in optical methods to advance discovery and application of medical science to clinical practice. With over 400 attendees gathering at a beach-front resort in south Florida, this must-attend meeting affords a unique and exceptional opportunity for intellectually stimulating one-on-one interactions with leaders and colleagues in our field in a casual, inviting environment.
