Details: As the largest and most comprehensive international event for both the science and business of optical communications, this year’s OFC/NFOEC will host the entire scope of optical communications, providing educational programming, exhibits and other activities for all audiences from systems companies to service providers and carriers and equipment manufacturers.

Featuring:

  • 600 optics and electronics exhibitors (40 percent based outside the U.S.)

  • Comprehensive technical program, featuring both the OFC and NFOEC programs, will comprise hundreds of sessions, including workshops, short courses and paper presentations
   
Highlights: Exposition floor highlights:

  • FTTx Center (Hall E) – A combination demonstration and resource center, The Light Brigade’s FTTx Center offers “one-stop shopping” for all things related to fiber to the home. The FTTx Resource Center will feature a live demonstration of an EPON triple-play network featuring independent VoIP, data and digital video streams interconnected over fiber via two optical network units (ONU) and an optical line terminal (OLT).

  • OSP/Fiber Technology Showcase (Hall E)
    – This on-floor theater will feature special presentations and demonstrations on topics of interest in today’s fiber optic technology. Demonstrations will include an emergency restoration performed live on a working fiber-optic system. Participants include ADC, Agilent Technologies, Sumitomo Electric Lightwave, PROMET International, Lightel Technologies and The Light Brigade.

  • POF Market Opportunities Presentation (Hall E) – The Plastic Optical Fiber Trade Organization (POFTO) will once again organize POF Day to review the year’s new industry developments. POF Day is designed to show what POF is and can do, what are the key applications, new technology, and demonstrations on the ease of connectorization and handling. It is intended for those not familiar with POF technology and recent applications. Exhibits of POF products will also be on display at the POFTO Pavilion during the exhibit.

  • Video Theater (Hall E) – Installation and system footage are combined with animations and graphics to give an in-depth look into the world of fiber optics at the educational Video Theater. New features include fiber-optic devices and connectors and cable management products.

  • New Product Introductions (Hall E) – A show floor theater in which individual exhibitors will be highlighting their newest developments, products and services in 30-minute showcase presentations.

Special Programming on the Show Floor – Service Provider Summit and Market Watch

  • The Service Provider Summit - Join your colleagues for this dynamic program with topics and speakers of interest to CTOs, network architects, network designers and technologists within the service provider and carrier sector. The program includes panel discussions, keynote presentations, exhibit time, and networking time. Wednesday, Feb. 27, OFC/NFOEC Exhibit Floor Theater

  • Market Watch - This three-day series of panel sessions engages the applications and business communities in the field of optical communications. Presentations and panel discussions feature esteemed guest speakers from industry, research, and the investment community. Tuesday, Feb. 26 through Thursday, Feb. 28, OFC/NFOEC Exhibit Floor Theater

  • 600 exhibitors, featuring the latest optical communications technologies.
