Irvine, CA – July 15, 2016 – Newport Corporation, a worldwide leader in photonics solutions, is introducing a matched pair of 1 inch diameter ultrafast chirped mirrors, specifically designed for convenient dispersion compensation of 10 fs and shorter laser pulses. The high reflectivity of the mirrors supports high throughput, while the proprietary coating design accurately controls higher order dispersion. The matched pair of mirrors has been designed to reflect over 95% from 700 to 890 nm and is ideal to use with Spectra-Physics Tsunami®, Spitfire®Pro or MaiTai® lasers.

Transmitting an ultrashort pulse laser beam through a number of optical components will cause the pulse to spread and become chirped. This matched pair of FemtoOptics mirrors is an ideal solution to compensate for these pulse broadening effects. The mirrors provide negative group velocity dispersion to the incoming laser beam with every bounce off the surface. By setting up a two or three mirror configuration, the laser beam can bounce back and forth between the mirrors many times to compensate for pulse dispersion effects.

The mirrors can be mounted into Newport's patented clear quadrant mounts to create the closest separation between two mirrors to allow for a maximum number of bounces. For more information on ultrafast matched chirped mirror pair please visit
