OSA offers 1, 3, 5 and 10 year memberships. Lifetime terms are also available. Visit Member Categories for more information.
Yes, OSA Fellows are welcome to submit a designation request for Senior Membership.

There are several ways to join or renewal your membership.  You may review the options on the Join or Renew page on OSA.org under Member Membership & Education.
Visit OSA Publishing's Digital Library (formerly Optics InfoBase) and click on “Log In.” You will be prompted to login using your email address and your OSA password. (Note: If you do not know your password, you can reset it online.) New users will be asked to agree to the terms of the “OSA User Agreement.” If you are a returning subscriber, once you login, you will have access to your 50 downloads from OSA Publishing's Digital Library, OPN Online, Optics Express and any additional journals you may have purchased.
To access OPN online, please visit the OPN website. You will be prompted to login using your email address and your OSA password. (Note: If you do not know your password, you can reset it online.)
To access “Physics Today” online you must first activate an account by responding to an email from scitationmail.org.  The email is sent shortly after you join OSA.

If you are trying to access an OSA Industry report and receive an error message this FAQ should help you.
 
You must be an OSA Industry Development Associates member to access these reports.  Access to reports is provided by IP address recognition, as well as your OSA Member ID and Password. Here is what you need to do to gain access if you have not already done so:

Ask your IT Department to provide you with your external IP address (AKA “public IP Address”) or range external of IP addresses that you use to access the internet

Send the IP Address to OSA – cam@osa.org.
 
When visiting OSA.org, you may access the Members-Only section by clicking on the “Members-Only” button in the navigation bar on the left side of the screen. You will be prompted to login using your email address and your OSA password. (Note: Your OSA password will be your member number unless you requested it to be changed.)
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it online by visiting the My Account section of OSA.org (this is located at the top blue bar of every page). You will be prompted to login using your email address and your OSA password. (Note: If you do not know your password, you can reset it online.) Once logged in, click on the “Contact Information” tab followed by the “Edit” button in the name and address information box to edit your contact information.

OSA Industry Development Associate Members can access a worldwide network of industry professionals to make new business contacts, connect with current customers, and establish innovative partnerships. OSA Members can request to receive a personalized member certificate signed by OSA’s Chief Executive Officer, Elizabeth Rogan. To do so, simply submit this online form. Please allow 3-4 weeks for receipt of your member certificate.
Individuals may update their technical groups by logging in to the My Account section of OSA.org (this is located at the top right corner of osa.org). You will be prompted to login using your email address and your OSA password. (Note: If you do not know your password, you can reset it online.) Once logged in, click on the “My Profile” tab followed by the “Edit” button in the Interest Areas information box to edit your technical group information.

Dues assistance may be available. Please send a request to OSA Member Services by submitting a Help Ticket. In your request, please provide an overview of your studies and/or field of work and clearly demonstrate the need for the dues waiver.

Individuals with a ten (10) year or greater record of professional and/or service accomplishment since the time of their highest degree are encouraged to apply for a Senior Member designation. If selected, individuals must have an active OSA Membership.

If you are not yet an OSA Member, you can enroll online. Additional information can be found by visiting osa.org/seniormember.
Senior Member applications, including two brief endorsement statements from OSA Members, are due no later than February 28th of each year and are reviewed in May of that same year.
