OSA to Host an Incubator Meeting on Materials for Optomechanical Actuation
 

Collaborative forum for problem-solving optomechanical materials challenges

WASHINGTON – The Optical Society (OSA) will host the Materials for Optomechanical Actuation Incubator 25-27 June at OSA’s Washington, D.C. offices. This Incubator brings together experts from academia and industry, as well as government agency personnel to identify a new framework for using or creating materials with the reversible structural, chemical, or dynamic properties to realize new lightweight actuation mechanisms and sensors powered by light energy. The participants will explore research directions that could lead to real-world applications.
