Sean Bagshaw Named Chief Operating Officer/Chief Information Officer at OSA
WASHINGTON, Jan. 28, 2014—The Optical Society (OSA) has announced that Sean Bagshaw has been promoted to chief operating officer/chief information officer (COO/CIO). Bagshaw has served as OSA’s CIO since 2009, overseeing software and Web development, business systems analysis, technological infrastructure and support, and setting the overall strategy for OSA’s technology initiatives. In his additional role of COO, he will run the finance, legal and facilities operations at OSA.“Sean is a results-oriented leader,” said OSA CEO Elizabeth Rogan. “As COO, he will develop and implement business processes and organizational policies that ultimately support our members’ and customers’ needs. I congratulate Sean on this well-deserved promotion.”
Bagshaw has more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit, healthcare and technology services industries. Prior to joining OSA five years ago, Bagshaw was the vice president and chief technology officer at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he oversaw the technology strategy and operations of the association. Before joining MBA, Bagshaw was vice president of engineering and operations at Oleran Net Solutions, where he oversaw technical sales, the engineer team and operations areas.
Bagshaw holds a bachelor of science in computer science with a minor in accounting from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y.
