Activity Grants & OSA Foundation Education Outreach Grants

All OSA Student Chapters and Local Sections in good standing have the opportunity to apply for grants in support of their programming.  Two types of grants are available:

• OSA Activity Grants of up to $1,000 USD to help support the group’s events and professional development
• OSA Foundation Youth Science Education Outreach Grants of up to $1,000 USD to help support educational outreach projects

Eligibility

• An Annual Report must have been submitted by the last May 31 deadline
• A report must have been submitted for all completed Activity and/or Education Outreach Grants funded in the pervious or current year

Review Process & Application Deadlines

The Awards Sub-Committee of the Member & Education Services (MES) Council reviews all applications and selects the grant winners during two grant application review cycles:

Fall Review: For programs taking place in January – June of the following year

Applications are due October 31st; notification of the review committee’s decision will be sent in by November 26th.

Spring Review: For programs taking place in July – December of the current year

Applications are due April 15th; notification of the review committee’s decision will be sent in May 12th.

Funding Amounts & Reporting Requirements

No more than $1,000 USD will be awarded for any one grant program/activity, and no more than $2,000 USD will be awarded annually to a single chapter or section.

A program report is due 30 days after the funded activity/program takes place. Reports for completed programs must be submitted to be eligible for future funding.  Links to the reports have been provided below:
