Transportation

Munich International Airport, named Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, is located 17 miles or 28 km northeast of Munich and is a hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance partner airlines. It began operations in 1992, and has the IATA airport code MUC, and its ICAO airport code is EDDM.

Taxi:
Taxis are available outside the airport terminal. There is a fixed price of 48 EU for a trip from the airport directly to the New Fair Munich (Neue Messe München) both directions.

Train:
The Airport Rapid Transit Trains leave for the center of Munich frequently. Stations Marienplatz and Hauptbahnhof (central rail station) are the stops in the center. The trip will take 30-40 minutes and the cost is approximately 9.50 EU. Follow the signs as you leave the customs area.

Bus:
During the international trade fair, a special Trade Fair Shuttle Bus Service operates between the Munich Airport and the ICM. The buses run at 30-minute intervals nonstop from the airport to the trade fair grounds. This service is free of charge upon presentation of a valid trade fair admission ticket, which can be obtained either at the trade fair information counter in the central area of the Munich airport or on the bus. Otherwise, the fare is approximately 8 EU for a single and 13 EU for a return journey. The journey takes about 35 minutes, depending on volume of traffic.

Transportation from Munich City Center to ICM-International Congress Centre Munich

The ICM is about 30-45 minutes from downtown Munich.

Free public transport
All registered conference attendees are eligible to use all Munich City Transport (MW- urban railway, underground, trams, and buses) and Laser Airport shuttle by presenting a corresponding ticket together with a conference entrance pass. Passes will be provided onsite with registration.
