About AIOM

The AIOM 2009 Topical Meeting will bring together international experts and researchers to review and discuss the advances in optics, materials science, condensed matter physics and chemistry relevant to the development of new optical materials. The development of new optical materials has been the key factor in the birth of new technology.

Topics to be Considered

  • Bulk laser crystals and glasses
  • Ceramic laser materials
  • Nonlinear crystals and glasses
  • Microstructured ferroelectric and semiconductor nonlinear crystals
  • Glass materials for fibers and new applications
  • Microstructured fibers
  • Photonic crystals
  • Quantum dots for optical applications

Due to increasing delays in securing visas to the US, we strongly encourage international attendees to begin this process as early as possible (but no later than three months before the meeting) to ensure timely processing. Please refer to the Letters of Invitation section of this website for additional information.
