In this webinar hosted by the Integrated Photonics Technical Group, Gunther Roelkens from Ghent University will present his work on heterogeneous integration through micro-transfer printing of opto-electronic components and material films on Si/SiN photonics integrated circuits with minimal modification to the existing silicon photonics process flow.

About the Presenter: Gunther Roelkens from Ghent University

Gunther Roelkens received a degree in electrical engineering from Ghent University, Belgium, in 2002 and a PhD from the same university in 2007, at the Department of Information Technology (INTEC), where he is currently full professor. In 2008, he was a visiting scientist in IBM TJ Watson Research Center, New York. His research interest includes the heterogeneous integration of III-V semiconductors and other materials on top of silicon waveguide circuits and electronic/photonic co-integration.
