IONS Nanjing 2015 jul. 10 - 12 2015 Description:
IONS Nanjing 2015 will be held in Nanjing University in this summer, organized by Nanjing University OSA student chapter and SIOM OSA student chapter, with the assistance of Chinese Laser Press and The R&D Center for High Power Laser Components. We aim at providing an academic exchange platform for students in different optical fields from different countries. Nanjing, as one of the most ancient cities in the world, is known as the capital of six dynasties. Over a long history of more than six thousands years, lots of historical sites and scenic spots have been formed here, such as Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Confucius Temple and Qinhuai River. Besides, many delicious special snacks will grantee your wonderful journey further. Our greatest hope is that all attendees will learn a lot and enjoy themselves and network with us!

IONS Boulder 2015 jul. 22 - 25 2015 Description:
This conference is one of seven International OSA Network of Students (IONS) conferences this year; these conferences are organized for students, by local student organizers at the most active OSA Student Chapters. IONS conferences provide special opportunities for students to gain experience networking, presenting their research and leading student chapters. The IONS Boulder program will feature: -Presentations from luminaries, professionals, and students including a presentation from Nobel Laureate and co-author of Fundamentals of Photonics Eric Cornell. -A joint poster session of student presentations on technical and student chapter related topics. -Two International Year of Light community outreach events and student chapter demonstrations. -Tours of the labs and facilities of University of Colorado Boulder. -A solar cooking barbeque, happy hours and a social day allowing attendees to experience the Rocky Mountains and the city of Boulder.

IONS Mexico City 2015 ago. 24 - 26 2015 Description:
IONS Mexico City 2015 is conference held in Mexico City that is organized for students, by students, and brings together a large group of Honours, PhD and Masters students in any field of optics. IONS Mexico City 2015 is also a part of the IONS (International OSA Network of Students) project that is run by student members of the OSA (The Optical Society). The main goal of IONS is to facilitate discussion and networking between students in different research fields of optics who otherwise would be unlikely to meet. This gives students a fresh perspective, as well as the opportunity to learn about research beyond their own field in optics. Participants also learn the essential skill of how to communicate their research to people who are not experts in their field.

The Conference "ROMOPTO 2015" is an international scientific event dedicated to optics and lasers, held in Romania. The purpose of this Conference is to provide a good opportunity for experts working in optics and lasers to share experience, to discuss the latest results, to stimulate interdisciplinary exchanges and to consider the prospects of applications. IONS Tunis 2015 sep. 02 - 05 2015 Description:
The Optics and Photonics Tunisia Student Chapter is delighted to host the First North African IONS conference in Tunisia from 2-5 September 2015. This conference is part of the International OSA Network of Students (IONS) conference series which brings together optics and photonics students from around the world. The IONS conference will be held in concert with the Federation of Optics College and University Students (FOCUS) conference sponsored by SPIE. IONS Tunis 2015 is a 4-day conference targeted at PhD, MSc and engineer students working in the field of optics and photonics. During this conference students will get the opportunity to present their latest scientific results, discuss their difficulties, and share their experiences. With this conference, we will help students to become better aware of a possible career in sciences. To meet new friends and colleagues from another culture will enable the participants to share their own experience and learn from each other. In addition, this conference will develop new and innovative networking opportunities for the students. The main goals of the conference are: –Network by moving beyond our borders and engaging with international students. –Discuss scientific results. –Share experiences. Since 2015 has been declared by the UN the International Year of Light and Light-based technologies, the scope of this conference is to: –Raise awareness of the beauty and accessibility of science through the given seminars in optics and photonics. –Address the important ways light technology and its many applications will be a key drivers of innovation in the 21st century. –Address the definitive need of African countries to have better-prepared researchers in optics and photonics to pass on their skills to younger generations through experience presenting, discussing and sharing the latest scientific results.

IONS Valencia 2015 sep. 24 - 26 2015 Description:
The International OSA Network of Students (IONS) is a program where student chapters can organize meetings between other chapter spreading its technical and professional developments. This year a group of Iberian chapters have joined to organize an IONS held in Valencia from 24-26 September. This conference is open to PhD and graduate students studying all fields that cover optics and photonics. Registration is free of charge.

IONS KOALA 2015 nov. 23 - 27 2015 Description:
IONS KOALA is the Conference on Optics, Atoms and Laser Applications (KOALA) held annually in Australia and New Zealand as well as an International OSA Network of Students (IONS) conference sponsored by The Optical Society (OSA). With the support of many fantastic organisations, our goal is to bring together a large groups of Honours, Masters and PhD students currently conducting research in any field of optics, atoms and laser applications in New Zealand, Australia and the world! IONS KOALA is designed to allow students to discuss their research whilst providing them with a chance to network with their peers who are working in various universities across a variety of fields. Our aim is that students gain a fresh perspective as well as the opportunity to learn about exciting research being conducted. Students will also get the chance to develop valuable communication skills through presenting their research to their peers working in a variety of fields. Registration fees are kept as low as possible in keeping with KOALA’s aim of providing an open and positive environment for students at all levels to present and discuss their research.
