Photonic Networks and Devices (NETWORKS)

14 - 17 julio 2013
Rio Mar Beach Resort, Rio Grande, PuertoRico

This new meeting is aimed at bringing together researchers and engineers from various communities that intersect in today's new generations of applications that will require photonic networks.  It is expected that the applications and network architectures will both drive and take advantage of new innovations in optical transmission and photonic photonic device and integration technologies. New demands for bandwidth, flexibility, low cost, high levels of integration, high functionality, lower power consumption and heat dissipation, capacity scaling, small footprint and other factors will require new innovation in photonic devices and integration.  Photonic device technologies will help drive systems and architectures to scale to petascale and exascale bisectional bandwidths and 10s of terabit transmission and beyond. The meeting is aimed at research that helps that span new photonic devices and photonic networks to support the future scaling and performance needed by leading edge and future applications, including data centers, cloud infrastructure, video distribution, memory processor and multiprocessor interconnects.
