Student Travel Grants


OSA Foundation Student Travel Grants

The OSA Foundation offers travel grant assistance to undergraduate and graduate students looking to attend OSA managed meetings. Each travel grant recipient receives a grant of $1,500 USD to help offset costs associated with attending the meeting. 

You are not required to be a conference presenter or an OSA Student Member to apply for a travel grant. However, preference is given to Members and all applicants are encouraged to submit a paper for oral or poster presentation.

Criteria for Eligibility

  • Be working or studying in a qualifying developing nation
  • Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
  • Demonstrate need for travel support and state the value of attending the conference
  • Applicant must agree to let the OSA Foundation (OSAF) use their picture, name and story in program marketing opportunities.

Application Requirements

  • Complete and submit the online application
  • Attach a letter of recommendation from an advisor/professor
