Introduction to adaptive optics.
Learn how to replace deformable mirrors with adaptive lenses. New techniques for wavefront control without wavefront sensor.

I feel myself when I am in the lab.
Where would you like to see your research in 5 years?
Adaptive lenses together with wavefront sensorless control will reduce the difficulties and cost of the implementation of adaptive optics in real application instruments. I hope to see adaptive optics as a successful widespread technology.
Which companies should be interested in your research and why?
All the companies that develop instruments where automatic improvement of image quality is important. Starting from companies building autofocusing systems for quality inspection and /or artificial vision to more complex instrumentation such as microscopes, ophtalmic instruments, lasers, free space optical communications.
Is there a single word or phrase that would describe you?
Adaptive optics will be.
What motivates you to do what you do?
Try to do something that nobody did before!
Where does your passion come from?
The satisfaction of solving problems makes my life happy.
What do you think makes AIO meeting a remarkable meeting? Why do you think AIO is a useful meeting to attend?
It is of fundamental importance to meet people in person working in the same are.
What is the question that you wish the attendees asked you after your talks and they never ask?
When I prepare presentations I always ask myself that question and then I put the answers in the presentation.
