Kongresshalle am Zoo Leipzig
Built in 1900, the Kongresshalle am Zoo Leipzig now appears in its new splendor after an extensive and elaborate renovation. It is unique in being immediately next door to the zoological garden. The scientific topics presented at Zoo Leipzig offer numerous points of contact for conferences and congresses. The historic building, with its exciting architecture was constructed in Gründerzeit era and combines historical and contemporary elements in a uniquely elegant atmosphere.

If you need a travel visa, begin the visa application process now! The application process can take up to 6 months or more. We strongly encourage you to apply for your visa as early as possbile. According to the so-called Schengen agreement, tourist and business visas issued by a mission of one of the following countries are valid for travel to Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. However, you always have to apply at the consulate of the country which is your main destination.

Euro is the currency of Germany. It is normally abbreviated with the sign . All Euro coins have a common side showing their value, while the national side shows an image chosen by each country. The Euro notes, front and back side, are the same in all countries. Credit cards are widely accepted, although paying with credit cards is not as common as in the USA. Super markets, department stores and restaurants, especially in smaller towns outside tourist regions, might only accept a German bank card, or cash.
