Advances in optical technologies and their use in commercial applications

Recent advances in applied optics have resulted in technological breakthroughs with significant commercial implications. The environmental, defense, oil & gas, food & beverage, medical, and pharmaceutical industries are just a few of the sectors that are consistently pushing the boundaries in applied industrial optics (AIO). At AIO, researchers with experience in overcoming the challenges of deploying and commercializing new technology meet research groups striving to get their technology out of the lab. In addition to traditional presentations, AIO hosts panel sessions aimed at fostering dialog and new collaborations amongst attendees. Topic categories include:  instrumentation, metrology, imaging systems, applied spectroscopy, wearable devices, clinical diagnostics, harsh environment systems and emerging laser, fiber, and photonic technologies.

Join your colleagues on a cruise along the Neckar River and enjoy a very special view of Heidelberg and its sights, including the Old Bridge and Heidelberg Castle as the cruise makes it’s way up and down the River.  The main cruise is Heidelberg to Neckarsteinach and back. The influence of the locks can clearly be seen in these traveling times – the full length cruise is only 10 minutes faster downstream than upstream.  Capacity of the boat: 500 people
