Microsystems – Global Impact: Applications of Silicon Nitride Integrated Photonics
Silicon nitride integrated photonic modules offer higher performance and lower power consumption than existing electronic solutions. Elsewhere they outclass bulk optical systems in terms of robustness and in scaling to volume. At LioniX International we use integrated photonics to enable the next wave of technological innovation in telecom, medical, metrology and sensing applications from diagnostics to data centres. In this session, we will present the technology and company competencies that drive value for our customers. Beyond this we will highlight our contributions to major societal challenges and showcase the power of our integrated photonics in these solutions.

Tom Horner works to collect and highlight the many examples of how integrated photonics is central to the development of applications with global impact. At LioniX International he works across the company’s main focus areas - specifically 5G communications, metrology, biosensing, medical imaging and AR/VR. With a background in physics, Tom has worked in various communications roles with a focus on the value that science and engineering bring to businesses, individuals, and nations.
