Faster, smarter, tougher: new detectors for a new era of laser applications
The laser market keeps growing and expanding, and so does the laser measurement market. At Gentec-EO, we remain on the lookout for new trends and applications, and we adapt our offer to these new opportunities. In this technology showcase, I will present our latest developments in terms of laser measurement instruments:
- FASTER energy detectors that can measure pulse-to-pulse energy at higher repetition rates,
- SMARTER power meters that communicate via bluetooth to allow for remote monitoring of your laser processes,
- and TOUGHER high power detectors that can withstand incredibly high damage thresholds.

Gabrielle Thériault's mission is to make laser measurement technologies easier to understand and use. Currently Marketing Manager at Gentec-EO, her training as physics engineer and her work experience as R&D Project Lead give her a unique perspective into both laser operator needs and researcher requirements. Her Ph.D. research in biophotonics led to a microscopy patent that is currently used by a fast-growing photonics company in Canada.
