AQN: A Simulation/Emulation Platform to Build the Quantum Internet

Aliro Quantum is a quantum networking platform created by a team of researchers that spun out of Harvard’s NarangLab. The company is already offering the most accurate, hardware-agnostic quantum network simulation and emulation tools, helping organizations around the world accelerate their quantum development. Join Professor Prineha Narang at Harvard and CTO of Aliro for a discussion on emerging quantum network applications and Aliro’s approach to commercially-scalable simulation and emulation of near and intermediate-term quantum networks to enable codesign at all layers of the network— hardware, software, and control plane. Professor Narang will explain the experimental realities to contend with, including: correlated control schemes, entanglement routing, and structured noise. Aliro is led by Professor Narang and CEO Jim Ricotta, who previously launched startups into emerging networking fields that resulted in exits to Cisco and IBM of $1B. The company has partnered with industry leaders and national labs, including: IBM, Rigetti, Honeywell, Air Force Research Laboratory, and Brookhaven National Laboratory. Aliro welcomes collaboration with organizations who see the revolutionary potential of quantum networking at scale.

Speaker

Prineha Narang, CTO, Aliro Quantum

Prineha Narang is an Assistant Professor at Harvard University and CTO and co-founder of Aliro Quantum, a leader in quantum networking technologies. Prineha came to Harvard as a Ziff Fellow and worked as a Research Scholar in Condensed Matter Theory at the MIT Department of Physics. She received an M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

Prineha’s work has been recognized by many awards and special designations, including: an NSF CAREER Award in 2020, being named a Moore Inventor Fellow by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, a CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, a Top Innovator by MIT Tech Review (MIT TR35), a Young Scientist by the World Economic Forum in 2018, and a member of Forbes Magazine’s “30under30” list. Prineha is also a part of DOE-led NQI Quantum Science Center and NSF-backed efforts in quantum network science. NarangLab's research at Harvard focuses on modeling quantum system behavior and harnessing these effects for powerful applications. Outside of science, Prineha is an avid triathlete and runner.
