Eastern Time (US & Canada) (UTC -05:00)

LIBS 2012 is the 7th of biennial series of international conferences started in Pisa, Italy in October 2000. The conference will be organized by the Applied Laser Spectroscopy group (ALS), at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science (NILES), Cairo University. As in the previously held LIBS conferences, this conference will be an opportunity for scientists, senior and junior researchers and engineers, technology developers as well as graduate students to discuss and demonstrate LIBS fundamentals and applications. In addition to building a creative advanced research and learning environment by bringing together LIBS experts from universities, research centers, and companies all over the world, the main objectives of LIBS 2012 are to cover cutting-edge experimental and theoretical works conducted to deepen our understanding of the basics of laser induced plasma and to widen LIBS applications in different fields. The current conference will focus on the biomedical, environmental, industrial, cultural heritage and homeland security applications.
