Let’s start our second 50 years by attending the ASNR 51ST Annual Meeting in San Diego. The Program Committee and our subspecialty societies are creating a very exciting program. The Symposium, sponsored by The Foundation of the ASNR, will be on new and exciting concepts in neuroradiology and imaging techniques including topics such as genetics of brain tumors, advances in epilepsy imaging, functional connectivity, neurocognitive disorders in children and adults and we are not forgetting the ever changing world of health care mandates and financial issues in clinical practice. We will also have a short symposium, at the start of the week, on the impact the government is having in research and how to maximize these new opportunities. Our annual meeting program will include topics such as genetic and inflammation of aneurysms, arterial dissections, update on vasoconstrictive syndromes, MR PET, advanced diffusion imaging and many more. Special lectures include: The Brain Observatory, Controversies in Neuroradiology, and a joint session with the World Federation of Neuroradiological Societies. A new series of lectures, CSI San Diego (computers, science, and informatics), will be initiated. Dr. Greg Sorensen from Siemens Healthcare has been selected to present the Annual Meeting Keynote Address. And of course, we will have our special program for Young Professionals. Hope to see you there!
