SBIR Photonics Funding Accelerator

Managed by Optica

02 November 2015

The Optical Society (OSA) will host a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding accelerator event on 02 November 2015. This meeting will bring together industry entrepreneurs and government agencies with the purpose of directing the development and funding of new advancements in photonics. SBIR programs are the U.S. government’s largest source of early stage research and development (R&D) funding for small business. During this meeting, members of The Optical Society will learn how to participate in and compete for funding and engage in Federal R&D programs and to commercialize photonics innovations. SBIR events, like this one, are a coveted opportunity for those involved in the advanced technology communities, including women- and minority-owned firms.

During the one-on-one sessions, SBIR representatives from federal agencies and departments will be on hand, including officials from The Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Chemical and Biological Defense (CBD), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Department of Energy, Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
