I am deeply indebted to Prof. Nathalie McCarthy who introduced me to optics when I was an undergraduate student. With patience and dedication, she trained me in the basics of experimental research, opening for me the door to a rewarding career in an exciting field. Prof. McCarthy is also a model of kindness to her students and stands out by her commitment to teaching. Her enthusiasm continues to inspire many more women to joint our research center and I am very proud to be her colleague!
