Honoring Norna Robertson

I met Norna Robertson first in early 90's, when she visited Syracuse University as a professor from University of Glasgow and I was a graduate student at Syracuse. I was already working in LIGO research with a great mentor, Peter Saulson, but she was the first woman professor in the field I met. She had worked on a "real" instrument (unlike LIGO then, that was beginning construction), and seeing the incredible precision they had achieved was very inspiring, especially with women in the field!
