I met Prof. Yzuel when I was a PhD student more than 20 years ago. She was the head of the project in which I was involved. The advance of Optics in Spain cannot really be undestood without the great work developed by Maria Yzuel during all her career. She is my woman role model in science. I always have her as a reference not only as a brilliant researcher but also as a closer teacher and as a great woman. She is a great defender of women rights in Science, specially in Physics. We love her
