Honoring Nancy Spaulding

Nancy Spaulding was the first person who made science come alive for me. I was lucky to have her – the woman who wrote the book on Earth Science – as my 7th grade science teacher. She invited questions, encouraged exploration & challenged all her students. When other teachers told me “girls just aren’t good at science,” all I had to do was remember Nancy. I now have my BS & MS in Environmental Science & today, I can still trace my love for science & confidence to pursue it to Ms. Spaulding!
