I wish to thank Dr. Sumei Sun for her mentorship during the formative years of my career. I met her when she was my supervisor in a project that I did on wireless relay network coding, during my 3rd Year undergrad summer internship. Although she works in RF comms rather than optics, her guidance during what was my first taste of research inspired my interest in the domain, which eventually led me to pursue my PhD. We still keep in touch, and she continues to enhance my career through networking.
