Honoring Marja Admiraal
Submitted by Mr. Joseph J van Rooij Delft University of Technology
My mother Marja, not active in the field of science herself, always encouraged me to pursue further studies. After my BSc in physics, I thought physics wasn't for me, so I did a MSc degree in management. I had no clue what kind of carreer I wanted and picked up a carreer in teaching physics. While teaching I fell in love with physics all over again. Despite me having a family already, my mother (and father) encouraged and supported me to get an MSc in physics, and now a PhD. Thank you mom..
