Ana María Cetto is a highly distinguished scientist who has served the community extensively over many years through senior appointments at the interface of science and politics. I had the great privilege of working with her on the International Year of Light, and without her support, we simply would not have succeeded. Her patient, collegial and fully informed approach to promoting science through diplomacy is one that the world today needs more than ever. Thank you Ana María!
