I would like to express my appreciation to my PhD advisor, Prof. Nimmi Ramanujam. I was among the first batch of PhD students when Nimmi was in Madison. I gained my first experience related to the field under her weekly guidance and learned about grant writing from her personal sample proposals. These established the basis for the later development in my academic career. I continue to receive her support even now, which I highly appreciate and have been doing the same to my own students.
