Honoring Anna Consortini
University of Florence (retired)

Submitted by Christopher Dainty University College London

Anna Consortini, as a teacher and professor at the University of Florence, made a huge contribution over her career to the experimental characterisation of light that propagates through atmospheric turbulence. She taught me, and many others, how good experiments should be done, and the importance of statistical errors in the analysis of atmospheric turbulence data. She always gives clear didactic explanations of complex statistical phenomena. And she introduced me to proper, Italian coffee!
